Black on black, baby. About as close as you can get to "Smell The Glove" by Spinal Tap. Almost none more black. You get the point. No better way to listen to this rowdy punk take on old-time folk than on a spinning slab of vinyl. Grab your gramophone and grab a drink.

about

In a few words:
Old time folk mixed with boozy rock and roll. Six members deep with a sound as raw as a chainsaw cutting through a pile of beer bottles... in a good way.

More words:
Pinning down the sound of Tin Horn Prayer is a fool’s game. Punk attitude, country woodgrain and Tom Waits nightmare carnival music all play a part, but even that motley mixture doesn’t quite describe the weirdness that ensues when former members of some legendary Denver acts get together. Featuring Scooter James (of Love Me Destroyer and Pinhead Circus), Mike Herrera (of the Blackout Pact and SleeperHorse), Andy Thomas (of Only Thunder and Ghost Buffalo), Eric Epling and Camden Trendler (of Throwaway Sunshine), as well as Ethan Steenson, the lineup reads like a who’s who, but the outfit is far from a star trip. Tin Horn Prayer’s debut album, “Get Busy Dying”, is filled with beer-soaked anger, wine-soaked misery and whiskey-soaked regret. The music staggers and struts like the guy at the end of the bar who started the night looking for love, but is now just looking for a fight. It’s raucous, ramshackle and raw, but the veterans in Tin Horn Prayer have the songwriting sophistication, expert showmanship and musical chops to pull it off. Though it takes you through some neighborhoods you’d rather not visit, “Get Busy Dying” is a wild and exhilarating ride.
